Jaffle Software™ is the software development arm of Deltra Pty Ltd that was created in mid 2006 to provide a clearer identity for the software related products and services of Deltra Pty Ltd.

Deltra Pty Ltd is a family company created by Louis John Lambert in 1977 and handed over to his son John Francis in 1999. It is still the trading entity for Jaffle Software.

The name Deltra is derived from "Development and Trading", to cover the diversity of activities Deltra has been involved in through the generations, ranging from import/export to prawn farming and now software development.

The name Jaffle Software and the Jaffle bird image arose from a brain-storming session in 2005 over a few bottles of red, and was largely inspired by the nickname "Jaffle" that had been given to John Francis Lambert (basically his initials, JFL, spoken as a word), as a Uni Student by his best friend Serge Merzliakov.

Subsequently the nickname was passed on to an Andy Williamson metal sculpture of a bird in a cage that JFL bought for his wife (see photo on right).

Practice Pro® is the flagship product of Jaffle Software. It has been in use in practices since 1987, originally with the name DNA-MOS (DNA Medical Office Software), then DPOS (Deltra Professional Office Software) in 1997, becoming Practice Pro in 1998.

Practice Pro is a widely recognised product name in the clinical office software industry, so it remains a key part of the marketing image of the web site and Jaffle Software, although it is expected that other software products will come out of the Jaffle Software stable in the future.
